1. Rufinamide is well absorbed when consumed with food, so patients can take it with meals. Its absolute bioavailability is 70%-85%. The elimination half-life of the drug is approximately 6-10 hours, and the time to reach maximum plasma concentration (C(max)) is approximately 4-6 hours.

2. When taking the medicine, the patient can take the whole tablet or half a tablet or crush it. The medicine should be taken at about the same time every day.

3. Patients with familial QT syndrome should not take this product.

4. Rufinamide is mainly metabolized by carboxylesterase into inactive metabolites (CGP 47292), and most of the metabolites are excreted in urine (91%). No dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment.

5. Rufinamide does not affect the plasma concentration of other anti-epileptic drugs, but phenytoin, phenobarbital, sodium valproate and primidone will affect the clearance of rufinamide. It is recommended that patients take the medicine as directed by their doctor and consult their doctor in advance when using it in combination with other medicines.

6. The oral starting dose of rufinamide is usually 10 mg/(kg·d) per day, and the dose is increased by 10 mg/(kg·d) every 2 days until the target dose is 45 mg/(kg·d) twice a day (the maximum dose is 3,200 mg per day). The specific usage and dosage should follow the doctor's advice.

7. The dosage of rufinamide in children under 4 years old has not been determined, so it is not recommended for children under 4 years old.
