Guide to Long-Term Ramipril Use: Safety and Renal Function Management

　　1.Renal Benefits of Long-Term Use

　　If serum creatinine increases by>30%or eGFR decreases by>25%after 3 years of use,investigate potential causes:dehydration(e.g.,diarrhea,vomiting),concomitant use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs),bilateral renal artery stenosis(rare),etc.Continue Ramipril after excluding reversible factors,adjusting the dose if necessary(e.g.,reduce from 10 mg/day to 5 mg/day).

　　Take the medication regularly and do not stop abruptly(sudden discontinuation may cause rebound hypertension).Oral solution formulations of Ramipril are not yet widely available in all regions;tablets are the most accessible form.If currently using the oral solution,consult your physician to switch to an equivalent tablet dose(10 mg oral solution=10 mg tablet)for greater convenience.
