Budesonide用法用量

It is a new type of inhaled glucocorticoid asthma treatment drug, which belongs to the adrenocortical hormone drugs. Budesonide was first developed and marketed by AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in 1981. It is a non-halogenated glucocorticoid that has a strong local anti-inflammatory effect and can inhibit early bronchospasm and late allergic reactions. It is one of the important drugs for the treatment of allergic asthma.

What is the dosage of Budesonide?

The dose of Budesonide nasal spray should be individualized for rhinitis: the recommended starting dose for adults and children over 6 years old is 256ug per day. This dose can be sprayed once in the morning or twice in the morning and evening. That is: spray 128ug (2*64ug) into each nostril in the morning; or spray 64ug into each nostril twice in the morning and evening. No increase in effect was seen when the daily dose exceeded 256ug. After the desired clinical effect is achieved, reduce dosage to the low doses needed to control symptoms. Clinical trials have shown that some patients spraying 32ug into each nostril every morning as a maintenance dose is sufficient. Some patients experience relief of symptoms 5-7 hours after starting treatment. Full effects may be achieved after several days of treatment (2 weeks in a few patients). Therefore, treatment of seasonal rhinitis is best initiated before allergen exposure, if possible. Severe nasal congestion may require the use of vasoconstrictor drugs. Adjuvant treatments may sometimes be needed to control eye symptoms caused by allergies.

The dosage is generally 1-2 mg once for adults, twice a day; for children, 0.5-1 mg once, twice a day. The maintenance dose should be individualized, that is, the lowest dose to maintain no symptoms. It is recommended that adults take 0.5-1 mg twice a day and children 0.25-0.5 mg twice a day. In addition, budesonide atomizer can be atomized with 1-5ml of normal saline.
