Budesonide () is an adrenal glucocorticoid that is indicated for chronic reversible airway obstructive diseases such as mild to moderate Crohn's disease and bronchial asthma involving the ileum and/or ascending colon. Precautions for Budesonide include the following:

1. It is forbidden for those who are allergic to any component of Budesonide. It should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation; compared with oral glucocorticoids, inhaled glucocorticoids have lower systemic effects when reaching equivalent anti-asthmatic doses; children under 2 years old should be used with caution or not;

2. You should not try to quickly relieve acute asthma attacks by inhaling Budesonide. You still need to inhale short-acting bronchodilators. If patients are found to be ineffective on short-acting bronchodilators, or if they require an increased dose of inhalation than usual, they should seek medical attention and consider enhanced anti-inflammatory treatment;

3. Using inhaled therapy to replace systemic glucocorticoid medication sometimes cannot control allergic diseases that require systemic medication, such as rhinitis and eczema. These allergic diseases require systemic antihistamines and/or topical dosage forms to control symptoms.

4. In patients with autoimmune hepatitis, serum aminotransferase levels (ALAT, ASAT) should be regularly evaluated to appropriately adjust the budesonide dose. Transaminase levels should be assessed every 2 weeks during the first month of treatment and at least every 3 months thereafter.

5. Corticosteroids may cause inhibition of the HPA axis and reduce stress response. In patients undergoing surgery or other stressful situations, supplemental systemic glucocorticoid therapy is recommended.

6. In patients with severe hepatic dysfunction, elimination of glucocorticoids including Budenofalk will be reduced and their systemic bioavailability will be increased.
