Sotorasiib is a new therapeutic drug for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer with KRAS G12C mutations. Although it has shown significant efficacy in clinical treatment, like all drugs, it may also cause some adverse reactions, such as diarrhea, headache, nausea, pneumonia, etc., which can be relieved by adjusting lifestyle, drug intervention, etc. under the guidance of a doctor.

Common adverse reactions of sotorasibu

include but are not limited to diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, changes in liver function tests (such as increases in alanine aminotransferase ALT and aspartate aminotransferase AST), cough, headache, decreased appetite, etc. Most of these adverse reactions are mild to moderate, but some patients may experience serious adverse reactions.

Management of Adverse Reactions

1. Diarrhea: Diarrhea is a common adverse reaction in the treatment of sotorasibu. Treatment includes antidiarrheal medications such as loperamide, along with replenishing fluids and electrolytes. In severe cases, a dose reduction of sotoraxib or a temporary interruption of treatment may be necessary.

2. Abnormal liver function: Regular monitoring of liver function is necessary. For elevations in ALT or AST, depending on the degree of elevation, dose adjustment or treatment interruption may be necessary, and hepatoprotective measures may need to be taken.

3. Nausea and vomiting: can be controlled with anti-emetic drugs such as metoclopramide or ondansetron. At the same time, patients are advised to adopt small and frequent eating habits and avoid foods that may irritate the stomach.

4. Fatigue: Management of fatigue includes ensuring adequate rest, reasonably allocating activities and rest time, and, if possible, using nutritional supplements and moderate exercise.

5. Cough: If cough affects the quality of life, you can use cough medicine. If your cough is accompanied by phlegm, you may need to use expectorant medications.

6. Headache: Mild to moderate headaches can be relieved with over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Treatment of serious adverse reactions

In the event of serious adverse reactions, such as severe diarrhea, severe abnormal liver function, severe rash or allergic reaction, you should seek medical treatment immediately. In these cases, sotoraxib may need to be permanently discontinued and emergency treatment measures instituted.

Since different patients may respond differently to drugs, management of adverse reactions needs to be tailored to the patient's specific situation. Doctors should adjust treatment plans based on the patient's specific conditions.
