[Drug Name] Wei Ketai, Parampanel Tablets

[Indications] Add-on treatment for patients with partial seizures of epilepsy (with or without secondary generalized seizures) in adults and children aged 12 years and above.

[Usage and Dosage] This product should be taken orally before going to bed, once a day. The starting dose of this product is 2 mg/day. The dose can be increased in increments of 2 mg each time based on clinical response and tolerance, with an interval of at least 1 or 2 weeks between each dose increase (the specific interval shall be considered based on the half-life of the combined drug below), so that the maintenance dose reaches 4 mg/day to 8 mg/day. Based on the individual clinical response and tolerability at the 8 mg/day dose, the dose can be increased up to 12 mg/day, with an interval of at least 1 or 2 weeks between each dose increase (the specific interval is based on the half-life of the combined drug below), and each increment is 2 mg. This product should be swallowed whole and should not be chewed, crushed or broken. Since the tablets are not scored, this product cannot be broken evenly.

[Character] This product is an orange (2mg specification) film-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after the coating is removed.

[Adverse reactions] Common ones include dizziness, drowsiness, headache, fatigue, irritability, nausea and falls, and most of them are mild to moderate.

[Precautions] Suicidal ideation: Suicidal ideation and behavior have been collectively reported in patients receiving epilepsy drugs for a variety of indications. A meta-analysis of randomized, placebo-controlled trials of antiepileptic drugs also showed a small increase in the risk of suicidal ideation and suicidal behavior. The mechanism by which these risks arise is unknown, but current data cannot rule out the possibility that these risks are increased when using perampanel. Therefore, patients should be tested for signs of suicidal ideation and behavior, and appropriate treatment should be considered. Patients (and their caregivers) should be informed that they should seek medical attention if they develop suicidal ideation or signs of suicidal behavior.
