【Indications】

Valganciclovir Hydrochloride Tablets are suitable for the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in adult patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and for the prevention of CMV infection in solid organ transplant patients at risk of CMV infection.

【Usage and Dosage】

Roche Vancevir should be taken orally with food. For patients with active CMV retinitis, the recommended dose of Vancevir is 900 mg twice a day, and the induction treatment time is 21 days; during the maintenance treatment period, the recommended dose of Vancevir for patients with active or inactive CMV retinitis is 900 mg once a day. For kidney transplant patients, treatment with Vancevir should begin within 10 days after transplantation. The recommended usage is 900 mg once a day, and the treatment time should continue until 200 days after transplantation. For patients who have received solid organ transplants other than kidneys, treatment with Vancevir should begin within 10 days after transplantation. The recommended usage is 900 mg once a day, and the treatment time should continue until 100 days after transplantation.

【Adverse reactions】

Side effects of overdose of Valcyte include abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors or epilepsy. The FDA believes that the upper limit of creatinine clearance calculated in pediatrics using the Schwartz formula is 150ml/(min·1.73m²). If the calculated dosage is >900mg, the dosage should be 900mg to prevent overdose.

【Taboo】

It should not be used in patients with a known allergic reaction to valganciclovir, ganciclovir or any other ingredient of the medicine.
