Is secukinumab a biologic?

Secukinumab is a biologic drug that has been shown in clinical trials to be superior to current biologics and is commonly used to treat psoriatic arthritis, moderate to severe plaque psoriasis and ankylosing spondylitis. Biological agents are drugs manufactured by humans through genetic engineering technology and are closely related to proteins naturally produced in the body.
