The most serious side effects of sunitinib
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved sunitinib (Sunitinib) in January 2006 for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and then in January 2007, sunitinib was approved for the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and advanced (metastatic) differentiated thyroid cancer; in October of the same year, the FDA approved it as a first-line drug for the treatment of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET). Sunitinib has also been approved in my country for the treatment of adult patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) who have failed or are intolerant to imatinib mesylate treatment and unresectable, metastatic well-differentiated advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET).
Sunitinib may have serious or fatal effects on your liver. Call your doctor if you have loss of appetite, stomach pain (upper right), tiredness, itching, dark urine, clay-colored stools, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
Sunitinib may also cause life-threatening blood clots in small blood vessels in organs, such as the brain or kidneys. If you develop symptoms such as fever, tiredness, decreased urination, bruising, or nosebleeds, seek medical help right away.
Also call your doctor right away if you have: pain, redness, numbness, and peeling skin on your hands and feet; easy bruising, unusual bleeding, purple or red spots under the skin; skin pain, sores in the mouth or lips; jaw pain or numbness, red and swollen gums, loose teeth, or slow healing after dental treatment; confusion, thinking problems, loss of vision, seizures; Heart problems—swelling, rapid weight gain, fast or pounding heartbeat, chest fluttering, shortness of breath, sudden dizziness (like you might pass out); increased blood pressure—severe headache, blurred vision, pounding in the neck or ears, dizziness; pan>Hypoglycemia - headache, hunger, weakness, sweating, fast heart rate, nervousness; signs of bleeding in the body - changes in mental status, blood in the urine, stomach pain and swelling, bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds; signs of tumor cell breakdown - tiredness, weakness, muscle cramps, nausea Palpitations, vomiting, diarrhea,fast or slow heart rate, tingling in the hands, feet, or around the mouth; or symptoms of a thyroid problem—severe and worsening tiredness,depression, fast heart rate, irritability, shaking, feeling nervous, sweating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hair loss, weight changes, irregular menstruation.
