How many boxes of Apelix should I use in a month?
Alpelisib (Alpelisib) is used to treat advanced metastatic breast cancer (MBC) with PIK3CA mutations and is the first P13K inhibitor approved for breast cancer in 2019. Unlike previous drugs, Apelvis only targets the α subunit (a P13Kα subunit-specific inhibitor), which is the only subunit that is normally activated. In one clinical trial, the Phase 3 clinical trial (SOLAR-1), the combination of apelvis and fulvestrant nearly doubled progression-free survival from 5.7 months to 11.0 months in patients with PIK3CA mutation-positive metastatic breast cancer.

Apelixis is now approved for use in postmenopausal women and men with estrogen receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer who have progressed on endocrine (hormone) therapy (such astamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors) and who have a PIK3CA mutation. The most common side effects include high blood sugar, rash, and diarrhea.
The standard dose of Apelvis is300 mg orally once daily with food, and treatment should be continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs. Patients should take a dose of Apelvis at approximately the same time each day, swallowing the tablet whole (the tablet should not be chewed, crushed, or split before swallowing). Tablets should not be taken if they are broken, cracked, or incomplete.
It is understood that the original drug (Indian version, European version) or generic drug (Laos version) of Apelvis is available in two specifications: 150mg*56 tablets and 150mg*28 tablets. A rough calculation is that if a patient uses Apelvis for a month, he will need about 1-2 boxes. ButApelix dose may vary in specific populations, or a dose reduction may be necessary based on symptoms and side effects experienced. Therefore, the use of the drug needs to be under the guidance of a doctor.
