Lazcluze (Lazertinib) – What are the side effects of Lazertinib?
Lazcluze (Lazertinib) - Lazertinib is a novel third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that has shown promise in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with specific EGFR mutations. While this drug offers a targeted approach to controlling cancer, it's important to be aware of its potential side effects.
In clinical studies of Lazcluze, the most common adverse reactions (≥20%) were rash, nail toxicity, infusion-related reactions (amivantamab), musculoskeletal pain, edema, stomatitis, VTE, and paresthesias Common symptoms, fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, COVID-19, bleeding, dry skin, decreased appetite, pruritus, nausea, and ocular toxicity; the most common grade 3 or 4 laboratory abnormalities (≥2%) were decreased albumin, decreased sodium, increased alanine aminotransferase (ALT), decreased potassium, decreased hemoglobin, increased aspartate aminotransferase (AST), increased GGT, and increased magnesium.

One of the most common side effects of Lazcluze is rash. Patients may experience a range of skin reactions, from mild redness and itching to more severe rashes that require medical attention. These skin-related side effects can often be managed with topical treatments or dosage adjustments, but can be troublesome for some patients. Close monitoring and proactive management are key to minimizing the impact of these skin problems.
Warnings and precautions related toLazcluze include venous thromboembolic events, interstitial lung disease (ILD)/pneumonia, serious rash including dermatitis acneiformis, ocular adverse reactions, and fetal harm. Symptoms of ILD include cough, shortness of breath, and chest discomfort. If patients experience any of these symptoms, they should seek medical care immediately, as ILD can progress rapidly and can be life-threatening if left untreated.
