6 early symptoms of liver cancer
Liver cancer, a malignant tumor of the liver, is notorious for its high mortality rate and difficulty in early detection. The liver, as an important organ in our body, is responsible for multiple responsibilities such as metabolism and detoxification. However, when liver cancer strikes quietly, it often does not show obvious symptoms immediately, which makes many patients not diagnosed until the disease has progressed to an advanced stage and miss the best opportunity for treatment. Therefore, understanding the early warning signs of liver cancer is crucial to improving treatment effects and survival rates.
In the early stages of liver cancer, although there may be no obvious symptoms, some subtle changes may indicate the arrival of the disease. The following are six common early manifestations of liver cancer that deserve our high vigilance:
First, persistent pain in the right upper abdomen or near the right shoulder blade, which does not recur but persists, may be caused by the liver tumor compressing or invading surrounding tissues. Secondly, abdominal bloating and abdominal swelling (ascites) are also common symptoms in the early stages of liver cancer, and these symptoms may gradually worsen as the tumor grows. In addition, hepatomegaly is also an important sign of liver cancer. Patients may feel a mass under the ribs on the right side.
In addition to the above manifestations, jaundice is also a significant symptom in the early stages of liver cancer. When liver function is damaged, bilirubin cannot be metabolized normally, causing the skin and eyes to turn yellow. In addition, symptoms such as fever, dark urine, pale or chalky stools, easy bruising or bleeding, fatigue, and unexplained and unintentional weight loss may also be early signs of liver cancer.
Of course, these symptoms are not unique to liver cancer; they can also be caused by other types of benign liver infections or diseases. But in any case, once patients develop these symptoms, they should seek medical treatment promptly for accurate diagnosis. Because for liver cancer, early detection and treatment are the keys to improving survival rates. Pain is particularly common in patients with advanced liver cancer, when the cancer may have spread and treatment becomes much more difficult. Therefore, we should always remain vigilant and pay attention to every subtle change in the body so that we can detect and treat liver cancer early when it strikes.
