Pemetinib drug instructions
Pemetinib is used to treat a certain type of cholangiocarcinoma that has spread to nearby tissue or other parts of the body and cannot be removed with surgery in adults who have received previous treatment. Pemetinib is also used in adults to treat a certain type of myeloid/lymphoid neoplasm (MLN; a type of blood cancer) that does not improve or comes back after other treatments.
Usage and dosage: Common adult dosage for bile duct cholangiocarcinoma: Orally administered each time 13.5 mg, once a day, for 14 consecutive days, then 7 days off, a 21-day cycle of treatment

SIDE EFFECTS: Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; trouble breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Pemetinib may cause serious side effects. Contact your doctor right away if you have: eye problems—eye pain or redness, dry or puffy eyes, watery eyes, eyes that may be more sensitive to light; vision changes—blurred vision, seeing dark spots or "floats," or seeing flashes of light; or high phosphate levels in the blood—muscle cramps, numbness, tingling around the mouth. If you experience certain side effects, your cancer treatment may be delayed or permanently stopped.
Common side effects of pemetinib may include: too high or too low levels of phosphate in the blood; dry eyes; stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite; diarrhea, constipation; mouth sores, dry mouth; joint pain, back pain; feeling tired; problems with fingernails or toenails; dry skin, hair loss; or a change in your sense of taste. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.
PRECAUTIONS: Follow all directions on the drug label and packaging. Tell each of your health care providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medications you take.
Tell your doctor if you ever have: eye problems; vision problems; or difficulty swallowing pills. You may need to have a negative pregnancy test before starting this treatment.
Both men and women taking pemetinib should use effective contraception to prevent pregnancy. Pemetinib may harm an unborn baby or cause miscarriage if the mother or father is using this medicine.
Continue using birth control pills for at least 1 week after your last dose If you become pregnant while either parent is taking pemetinib, tell your doctor right away.
Do not breastfeed while you are taking this medicine and for at least 1 week after your last dose
Storage: Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
