Side Effects

Enstilar clinical efficacy analysis

Background and purpose: Clinical trials have confirmed the therapeutic effect of Enstilar aerosol foam on patients with scalp psoriasis. However, there is a lack of data on the true effectiveness of Cal/BD aerosol foam in this subgroup of patients. Therefore, this study investigated the efficacy and tolerability of Enstilar in patients with scalp psoriasis treated for 4 weeks in daily clinical practice.

Methods: This prospective, non-invasive, multicenter study involved 217 adults with scalp psoriasis who were treated with Enstilar for 4 weeks. Primary endpoints included the proportion of patients with scalp area affected <10% (scalp-BSA) plus scalp-PGA "mild" after 4 weeks, and the proportion of patients with absolute PSSI ≤2 points after 4 weeks. Secondary endpoints included patient-reported changes in erythema, pruritus, flaking, and thickness from baseline, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks.

Results: After 4 weeks, 53.4% ​​of patients treated with Enstilar achieved <10% scalp BSA and mild scalp PGA. In addition, 47.6% of patients had PSSI ≤2. Improvement of itching and other symptoms (induration, erythema and scaling) occurred already within 3 days.

Patients are very satisfied with the treatment (Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire -9 points, effectiveness is 74.5±27.1, ease of use is 72.0±25.2, general satisfaction is 77.8±24.2). Overall, 97.4% of healthcare professionals rated the tolerability of Cal/BD aerosol foam as good/very good, with no new safety concerns.

Conclusion: This study demonstrates Enstilar's rapid onset of action, good tolerability, and favorable safety profile for the treatment of patients with scalp psoriasis in a real-world setting.

1. Flammability:

2. Hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria:
