The efficacy results of eplerenone

In the five following A meta-analysis of these studies included 1,437 adult patients in a parallel group study of eplerenone, with daily doses ranging from 25 to 400 mg daily. There may be a dose-response effect of eplerenone in reducing systolic blood pressure at a dose of 400 mg/day.

Overall, there does not appear to be a clinically important dose response of eplerenone in reducing systolic or diastolic blood pressure at daily doses of 50-400 mg. There did not appear to be any difference in the number of patients who dropped out of the study due to adverse events or who had at least one adverse event in the eplerenone group compared with the placebo group.

Compared with placebo, eplerenone 50-200 mg/day can reduce systolic blood pressure by 9.21 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 4.18 mmHg in patients with essential hypertension. There is no difference in the effect between 50-200 mg/day.
