It is a highly selective, oral drug that directly inhibits factor Xa. Compared with warfarin, its effect is safe, effective and lasts for a long time, and does not require monitoring of coagulation. By inhibiting factor

Rivaroxaban does not inhibit thrombin (activated factor II) and has no proven effect on platelets. Rivaroxaban has been observed to have a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on factor Xa activity in humans. Who is rivaroxaban suitable for?

Indications for Rivaroxaban:

1. For adult patients undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery to prevent venous thrombosis (VTE).

2. Used to treat venous thrombosis (DVT) in adults and reduce the risk of DVT recurrence and pulmonary embolism (PE) after acute DVT.

3. For use in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation who have one or more risk factors (such as congestive heart failure, hypertension, age ≥75 years, diabetes, history of stroke or transient ischemic attack) to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism.

Rivaroxaban is used in special populations:

(1) Pregnant and lactating women: Disabled.

(2) Children: Not recommended for use by children under 18 years old.

(3) Elderly: Patients over 75 years old should reduce the dosage appropriately and please use it under the guidance of a physician or pharmacist.

(4) Hepatic insufficiency: It is contraindicated in patients with liver disease who have coagulation abnormalities and clinically relevant bleeding risks, including patients with decompensated cirrhosis.

(5) Renal insufficiency: It is contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency. Other patients should have their renal function monitored regularly during treatment.

The recommended dose of rivaroxaban is: 10 mg orally, once daily. If the wound has stopped bleeding, the first medication should be administered between 6-10 hours after surgery.

The length of treatment is determined by each patient's risk of VTE, i.e. by the type of orthopedic surgery the patient has undergone.
