Effects: Hydrocortisone tablets are adrenocortical hormone drugs. It has various pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive. (1) Anti-inflammatory effect: Glucocorticoids reduce and prevent tissue responses to inflammation, thereby reducing the manifestations of inflammation. (2) Immunosuppressive effect: Prevent or inhibit cell-mediated immune responses, delayed allergic reactions, and reduce the expansion of primary immune responses. (3) Anti-toxic and anti-shock effects: Glucocorticoids can counteract the stimulating response of bacterial endotoxins to the body, reduce cell damage, and play a role in protecting the body.

Hydrocortisone tablets can inhibit the utilization of glucose, increase blood sugar and liver glycogen, and promote protein decomposition. It changes fat distribution and increases blood cells and hemoglobin; large doses can increase platelets, increase fibrinogen, reduce eosinophils and lymphocytes, and can also reduce pathological fibrous tissue growth, excite the central nervous system, and increase the secretion of gastric acid and pepsin; it also has certain mineralocorticoid activity, which can retain water and sodium and drain potassium. It has anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, anti-toxic, anti-shock and other effects. It is mainly used for the replacement treatment of acute and chronic adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism. It can also be used for sepsis, connective tissue disease, asthma, anaphylactic shock, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, lymphoma, autoimmune hemolytic, essential thrombocytopenic purpura, viral encephalitis and nephrotic syndrome.

Adult dosage, oral administration, 10 to 80 mg each time, or 20 to 25 mg/(m2·d), 3 or 4 times a day; oral administration is rapid absorption, tmax is about 1 hour, and the effect can last for 8 to 12 hours. A clinical trial explores the application and efficacy of two oral hormones, hydrocortisone and prednisone, in postoperative hormone replacement therapy in patients with hypercortisolism. Two oral corticosteroids, hydrocortisone and prednisone, are safe and effective in postoperative hormone replacement therapy in patients with hypercortisolism.
