Dosage of budesonide aerosol should be individualized. For patients with severe asthma and discontinuation or reduction of oral corticosteroids, the starting dose of budesonide aerosol is: 200-1500 μg/day for adults, divided into 2-4 times (for milder cases, 200-800 μg/day, for more severe cases, 800-1600 μg/day). For children aged 2-7 years, 200-400μg/day, divided into 2-4 times. Children over 7 years old: 200-800μg/day, divided into 2-4 times. Twice-daily dosing (morning and evening) is generally sufficient. When clinical effects are achieved, the maintenance dose should be gradually reduced to the lowest dose that can control symptoms. For patients who require enhanced treatment, the dose of budesonide aerosol can be increased because the former is associated with a lower incidence of systemic side effects compared with the addition of oral corticosteroids.

Usage and dosage: Adults generally use 1-2mg once, twice a day; children use 0.5-1mg once, twice a day. The maintenance dose should be individualized, that is, the lowest dose to maintain no symptoms. It is recommended that adults take 0.5-1 mg twice a day and children 0.25-0.5 mg twice a day.
