Common dosage of lemborexant

Common dosage of lemborexant in adults

Take 5 mg of lemborexant orally before going to bed every day, and the maximum dose is 10 mg of lemborexant once before going to bed.

Medication management of lemborexant

1. Take lemborexant only when you are getting ready to go to bed or when you are already lying in bed, and make sure you can sleep in bed for a full night (at least 7 hours) before engaging in activities.

2. If taken with food or eaten shortly after taking the medicine, the effect of lemborexant may be delayed.

3. Even if taken as prescribed, lemborexant may affect daytime alertness. If you don't get a full night's sleep, you are at increased risk of having your daytime function affected.

4. Use caution when driving or engaging in activities that require complete concentration.

5. Increased sleepiness may increase the risk of falling.

6. Lemborexant may cause complex sleep behaviors, including sleepwalking, driving while sleeping, preparing and eating food, talking on the phone, or having sex while not fully awake. If any of these symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical attention should be sought.

7. If depression worsens or suicidal thoughts occur, seek medical attention immediately.

8. If you are pregnant, please consult your doctor.

9. Do not drink alcohol while taking lemborexant.

10. Inform your doctor about your health status and all medications you are taking (including prescription and over-the-counter drugs).

11. Do not increase or decrease the prescribed dose without authorization. If necessary, please consult your doctor.

Dose adjustment of lemborexant

Combined use with strong or moderate CYP4503A4 inhibitors: Concomitant use is not recommended.

Combined use with weak CYP4503A4 inhibitors: Take up to 5 mg orally daily at bedtime.

Combined use with strong or moderate CYP4503A4 inducers: Combination use is not recommended.

Dose adjustment of lemborexant for special groups

1. Dose adjustment in patients with renal insufficiency

Dosage adjustment is not recommended.

2. Dose adjustment in cases of hepatic insufficiency

Mild hepatic insufficiency: Dosage adjustment is not recommended.

Moderate hepatic impairment: Maximum dose is 5 mg daily at bedtime.

Severe liver insufficiency: Not recommended.
