The main active ingredient of Qlosi eye drops is pilocarpine hydrochloride, which works by activating muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle of the eye.

Precautions before use of Qlosi Eye Drops

1. Allergy history

Those who have allergic reactions to or any excipients are prohibited from using it. Personal allergy history should be confirmed before use to avoid severe allergic reactions.

2. Eye condition assessment

Especially for people at high risk of retinopathy, a comprehensive retinal examination should be carried out before starting treatment.

3. Note on concurrent diseases

People with iritis should avoid using Qlosi eye drops to avoid adhesion between the iris and the lens.

The pictures come from public channels (such as the official website of the FDA, the official website of the original drug manufacturer, etc.) and are for reference only.

Daily precautions during the use of Qlosi eye drops

1. Correct instillation method

Instill 1 drop in each eye, up to 2 times a day, with an interval of at least 2-3 hours between administrations. If other eye drops are used, the interval should be at least 5 minutes.

2. Contact lens wearers

Contact lenses should be removed before instilling the medicine, and they should wait for 10 minutes before wearing them again to avoid drug residue causing irritation or affecting the efficacy.

3. Avoid contamination and damage

Use single-dose vials and discard them after use. Try to avoid direct contact of the instilled medicinal solution with the eyes or any other surface, otherwise it will not only cause contamination of the medicinal solution, but also easily cause certain damage to the eyes.

4. Overdose

Systemic toxic reactions after topical eye administration are rare, but occasionally sensitive patients may experience sweating and gastrointestinal hyperactivity.

Accidental swallowing can cause sweating, salivation, nausea, tremors, slowed pulse and decreased blood pressure.

For moderate overdose, spontaneous recovery is expected, with recovery aided by intravenous fluids to correct dehydration. For patients showing symptoms of severe poisoning, atropine, the pharmacological antagonist of pilocarpine, should be used.

Precautions after taking Qlosi eye drops

1. Common adverse reactions

Including pain at the drop site, headache and blurred vision. The incidence rate is between 2% and 8%. Most symptoms are mild and can be relieved by themselves.

2. Visual changes and activity restrictions

If your vision has not returned to a clear level, you should not drive or operate precision machinery by yourself. You must be especially cautious when driving at night or in dangerous operations in low light to avoid accidental tragedies caused by poor vision.

Qlosi Eye Drops Drug Interactions

1. Combination Drugs

The current instructions do not clearly mention specific drug interactions. If the patient uses other systemic or local drugs at the same time, he or she must inform the physician, especially anticholinergics, β-blockers and other drugs that may affect eye function. Physicians need to evaluate the risk of drug interactions.

2. Overdose treatment

Systemic toxicity from topical administration is rare, but sensitive individuals may experience sweating and gastrointestinal reactions. However, if it is caused by accidental ingestion, a series of poisoning symptoms such as salivation, nausea, slowed pulse, etc. are common. If the condition is more severe, atropine antagonists must be used immediately and corresponding supportive treatment must be given.

Qlosi eye drops can effectively improve presbyopia when used correctly, but you need to strictly follow the medication instructions, pay attention to your own reactions and communicate with medical staff in a timely manner.
