氯替泼诺混悬滴眼液(Lotemax)的副作用如何缓解
Loteprednol suspension eye drops (Lotemax) was developed by Bausch & Lomb of the United States. It is a glucocorticoid ophthalmic drug and was first approved for marketing in the United States in 1998.
Side effects of Loteprednol Suspension Eye Drops (Lotemax)
1. Ocular adverse reactions
In clinical studies, about 25% of patients reported anterior chamber inflammation. Other common adverse reactions include conjunctival hyperemia, corneal edema and eye pain, with an incidence rate of approximately 4%-5%.
2. Increased intraocular pressure
Long-term abuse of corticosteroids may not only increase intraocular pressure, but may even push glaucoma to a more serious stage, eventually causing irreversible damage to the optic nerve and visual field defects.
3. Cataract formation
Steroid use may also cause posterior subcapsular cataracts.
4. Delayed healing and risk of infection
Postoperative use of steroids may delay wound healing and increase the incidence of follicle formation.
In addition, bacterial, viral, or fungal infections may be masked or aggravated, so patients with a history of herpes simplex should be particularly cautious.

Loteprednol Suspension Eye Drops (Lotemax) side effects relief
1. Monitoring and follow-up examination
If eye discomfort occurs, such as eye pain, redness and swelling, or uncontrollable itching, or even the original inflammation suddenly worsens, stop using the drug immediately and seek medical treatment in time. If used for more than 10 days, intraocular pressure should be checked regularly, and fundus and visual acuity should be evaluated if necessary.
2. Avoid extending the medication on your own
Patients should not increase the frequency of medication or abuse the medication on their own. Continued use after 14 days must be evaluated by a doctor and examined under a microscope and other equipment.
3. Pay attention to hygiene and protection
To avoid contamination caused by the mouth of the tube coming into contact with eyes or skin during operation, wash your hands before operation. Contact lenses should not be worn while taking this medication.
4. Symptomatic treatment
If mild discomfort occurs, artificial tears can be used to relieve dryness; if symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical treatment in time to rule out infection or other complications.
