Is there resistance to Sonidegib?

Sonidegib is a hedgehog pathway inhibitor that has been approved by the US FDA for the treatment of locally advanced basal cell carcinoma (BCC), which are tumors that are not easily treated with surgery or radiotherapy. Alopecia, muscle cramps, nausea, dysgeusia (dysgeusia), nausea, fatigue, and elevated blood creatine kinase were the most commonly reported adverse events in the BOLT trial.

At the time of raw data analysis, 3 of 79 patients in the 200mg group and 13 of 150 patients in the 800mg group had discontinued treatment with solidegib due to muscle spasms. The most commonly reported Grade 3-4 adverse event was elevated creatine kinase concentrations. Serious adverse events occurred in 14% of patients in the 200 mg group and 30% in the 800 mg group, respectively, with rhabdomyolysis being the most commonly reported. In the raw data, most patients who received BCC had scores that remained unchanged or improved, with a greater proportion of patients in the 800 mg group reporting declines in quality-of-life measures. The study results show that Solidegib is well tolerated and can maintain or improve the self-reported quality of life of most patients with laBCC or mBCC.

Solidagen is a new type of drug for treating diseases.
