How to take Pemigatinib

Pemigatinib, trade namePemazyre, is an anti-cancer drug used to treat cholangiocarcinoma (CAA). Pemigatinib belongs to a group of drugs called protein kinase inhibitors, which work by blocking protein kinases called Enzymes that work, especially those that belong to receptors (targets) called fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs), work by blocking FGFR2 in tumor cells to prevent them from growing and spreading.

Pemetinib is taken orally. It is usually taken once a day on an empty stomach, about 1 hour before breakfast or 1 to 2 hours after dinner. Follow the specific usage directions on the drug package insert. If you forget a dose, do not take a double dose with your next dose, just continue taking it at your normal time points. Taking pemigatinib with a high-fat and high-calorie meal (approximately 1,000 calories, of which 150 calories are from protein, 250 calories from carbohydrates, and 500-600 calories from fat) has no clinically significant effect on the pharmacokinetics of pemigatinib.

The original drug of pemetinib has been launched in China. Due to its short time on the market, it has not yet entered the scope of medical insurance. The price of each box of 4.5mg*14 tablets may be around 30,000 yuan, which is expensive. The price of the original pemetinib drug, 13.5mg*14 tablets, per box sold overseas may be around RMB 70,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). There are also generic pemetinib drugs produced in other countries overseas. For example, the price of a box of 4.5mg*21 tablets produced by a Laos pharmaceutical factory may be around 3,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to the exchange rate). The price is relatively cheap. The pharmaceutical ingredients of the generic drugs are basically the same as those of the original drugs at home and abroad.
