Targets of Amivantamab
Amivantamab (Amivantamab) mainly targets two key molecules: epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and MET (muscle-specific casein kinase). These two targets play an important role in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), especially in EGFR gene mutations and METgene exon 14 is deleted in the subtype (METex14).
1.EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor): EGFR is a receptor casein kinase that plays an important role in cell proliferation and growth. EGFR is found to be overexpressed or mutated in a variety of cancers, including NSCLC . EGFRGene mutations can lead to the activation of abnormal signaling pathways and promote the uncontrolled growth of tumor cells. Evantumumab binds to EGFR and inhibits its activity, thereby reducing the growth and spread of tumor cells.

2.MET (muscle-specific casein kinase): MET is another key molecule that is involved in the regulation of cell growth and migration. METex14deletion is a rare but important molecular abnormality in NSCLC, which can lead to the sustained activation of the MET signaling pathway and promote the formation of malignant tumors. Evantumumab inhibits the activation of this abnormal signaling pathway by simultaneously binding to MET, thereby inhibiting the proliferation and spread of tumor cells.
The bispecific antibody structure of evantumumab enables it to act on both EGFR and MET, and is expected to treat EGFR gene mutations and METex14 deletionsNSCLCEffective treatment options available to patients. This targeted therapeutic approach is designed to interfere with tumor cell survival and proliferation mechanisms, providing hope to patients, especially those for whom traditional treatments have had limited effectiveness.
Evantuzumab is not yet available in China, so patients cannot purchase it domestically and need to purchase it through foreign channels. There are only European versions of original drugs available abroad, and the price is relatively high, around 20,000 yuan.
