Vorinostat Can be used to treat skin T-cell lymphoma (CTCL, a type of cancer) in people whose disease does not improve, worsens, or comes back after taking other drugs. Vorinostat belongs to a class of drugs called histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors, which work by killing or preventing the growth of cancer cells.

Vorinostat, also known as suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (suberoyl+aniline+hydroxamic acid abbreviated as SAHA), is a member of a large class of compounds that inhibit histone deacetylase (HDAC). Histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDIs) have broad epigenetic activities. It is marketed by Merck under the trade name Zolinza. Vorinostat is available as an oral capsule. Usually taken once a day with food. Doctors will tell patients whether to take vorinostat every day or only on certain days of the week. Take vorinostat at approximately the same time each day. Do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor. Swallow capsules whole; do not open, chew, or crush them. If a vorinostat capsule is accidentally opened or crushed, do not touch the capsule or powder. If powder from an opened or crushed capsule gets on your skin, eyes, or nose, wash the area with plenty of water and tell your doctor.
The original drug of vorinostat is not currently on the market in China, and therefore cannot be included in the national medical insurance coverage. Overseas, there is an American version of the original drug, specifications100mg*120 pills per box, which may cost around 100,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rate effects).
