What does Selinexor treat?

Selinexor (Selinexor) in combination with dexamethasone is indicated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma in patients who have received at least 4 prior therapies and whose disease is refractory to at least 2 proteasome inhibitors, at least 2 immunomodulators, and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody (designated as an orphan drug by the FDA for the treatment of this cancer). For the treatment of adult patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least one prior therapy, in combination with bortezomib and dexamethasone.

The guidelines recommend the use of triple therapy with two novel drugs (immunomodulatory drugs, proteasome inhibitors, or monoclonal antibodies) plus a steroid for the treatment of relapsed or refractory disease. Due to the lack of comparative trials, no preference was given for one option over another. Selinisol is also currently being used to treat adult patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) (not otherwise specified, including DLBCL caused by follicular lymphoma) who have received at least 2 systemic therapies. It is designated as an orphan drug by the FDA for the treatment of DLBCL.

The original drug Seleniso has been launched in China and is sold under the trade name of Silvio, but it has not yet entered the scope of medical insurance.
