Is filgotinib on the market?

In September 2020, filgotinib was approved for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Europe, the United Kingdom, and Japan, but has not been approved for any indication in the United States and is sold under the trade name Jyseleca. Studies have shown that filgotinib alone or in combination with methotrexate is effective in treating moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, whereas previous treatments with DMARDs have been less effective. Figotinib is also approved for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) in Europe, the United Kingdom, and Japan, and demonstrated early symptom relief and sustained efficacy in UC patients in a Phase III trial who were biologic naïve or biologic experienced for ulcerative colitis. They also showed that it was effective in treating adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis, for whom conventional or biologic treatments did not work or were not tolerated.
