Bedaquiline (Bedaquiline) is a drug used to treat multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. This interference causes the bacteria to be unable to efficiently use oxygen for energy production, which in turn negatively affects bacterial growth and reproduction. Bedaquiline can also inhibit cyclooxygenase (enoyl-acyl carrier protein reductase), a key enzyme for fatty acid synthesis in bacteria, thereby interfering with the lipid composition of the bacterial cell wall. This interference disrupts the cell wall integrity of M. tuberculosis, making it vulnerable to attack by the host immune system.
