What is Vemurafenib?
Vemurafenib( Vemurafenib) is a multikinase inhibitor that is used to treat certain types of melanoma (a type of skin cancer) that cannot be treated with surgery or that have spread to other parts of the body. It is also used to treat a certain type of Eddheim-Chester disease (ECDa disease that causes the overproduction of a type of white blood cell). Vemurafenib belongs to the kinase inhibitor class of drugs. It works by blocking the activity of an abnormal protein that sends a reproduction signal to cancer cells, which helps slow or prevent the spread of cancer cells.

Vemurafenib is a low molecular weight molecule designed to inhibit mutated serine-threonine kinaseBRAF. It selectively binds to the ATP binding site of BRAF V600Ekinase and inhibits its activity.
