Anti-cancer drug: Dosage of venetoclax/venetoclax, simple understanding of how to use it

Venetoclax needs to be taken with food and water at about the same time each day. Swallow the Venetoclax tablet whole. Do not chew, crush, or break tablets before swallowing. The recommended dose of venetoclax can be delivered using any approved tablet strength (e.g. patients may take 2*50mg tablets or 10*10mg tablets as needed instead of 1*100mg tablet). Keep Venetex tablets in their original packaging for the first 4 weeks of treatment. Do not transfer these tablets to another container.

1. For patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), the starting dose of venetoclax is daily20 mg and gradually increase to 400 mg daily over five weeks (20 mg on the first week, 50 mg on the second week, 100 mg on the third week, and 200 mg daily on the fourth week), then continue at 400 mg daily, with the duration of treatment depending on which drug is taken with it. When using venetoclax alone, keep it on for as long as treatment continues to be effective.

2. For acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients, the starting dose is 100mg and increased to 400mg per day within three days (100mg on the first day, 200mg on the second day, and 400mg on the third day). If certain side effects occur, the dose may need to be reduced or the treatment may be interrupted or stopped. Coadministration should follow its prescribing information.

If a patient misses a dose within 8 hours of their usual dose of venetoclaxInstruct the patient to take the missed dose as soon as possible and resume their normal daily dosing schedule. If the patient misses a dose by more than 8 hours, instruct the patient not to take the missed dose and to resume their normal dosing schedule the next day. If the patient vomits after administration, instruct the patient not to take additional doses that day and to take the next prescribed dose at the normal time.

The original drug of Venekra has been launched in China and has been included in Class B medical insurance. The price of 100mg*14 tablets per box may be around 2,000 RMB, while the Turkish version of the original drug sold overseas, with the specification of 100mg*112 tablets, costs more than 10,000 RMB per box (the price may fluctuate due to the exchange rate). There are also cheaper generic drugs of Venacla sold overseas. Their pharmaceutical ingredients are basically the same as those of the original drugs sold domestically and abroad. For example, the price of 100mg*120 tablets produced by a Bangladesh pharmaceutical factory is more than 4,000 yuan per box (the price may fluctuate due to the exchange rate).
