What disease does platinib treat?
Pralsetinib is a kinase inhibitor of wild-type RET and oncogenic RET fusions and mutations. Certain RET fusion proteins and activating point mutations can drive tumorigenic potential through overactivation of downstream signaling pathways, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation. Platinib shows antitumor activity in cultured cells and animal tumor transplant models harboring oncogenic RET fusions or mutations. Platinib is particularly useful in the following situations:
1. Metastatic RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cancer: Platinib is suitable for the treatment of adult patients with metastatic RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer.
2. RET fusion-positive thyroid (TC) cancer: Platinib is indicated for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older with advanced or metastatic RET fusion-positive thyroid cancer that requires systemic therapy and is refractory to radioactive iodine (if radioactive iodine is appropriate).
Platinib is available as an oral capsule. The recommended dose is 400 mg once daily on an empty stomach. Do not eat for at least 2 hours before taking platinib and for at least 1 hour after taking platinib. Adverse reactions associated with the use of platinib may include, but are not limited to, fatigue, constipation, musculoskeletal pain, hypertension, laboratory abnormalities and other symptoms.
The original drug Platinib has been launched in China, but it has not yet passed the relevant policies for inclusion in medical insurance. Specifications Each box of 100mg*120 capsules may cost around RMB 60,000. There are European and American versions of Platinib's original drug sold overseas. The price of each box of 100mg*60 pills may range from RMB 40,000 to RMB 150,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates), which is very expensive.
