Do selinesol tablets have serious side effects and need to be discontinued?
Selinexor (Selinexor) is a prescription drug that is used to treat multiple myeloma. May be used with bortezomib and /or dexamethasone. It is also used in adults to treat certain types of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Selinisol is given after other medicines have not worked or stopped working, and may cause some side effects. The severity of these side effects varies from person to person, and some people may need to stop taking the drug, while for others the side effects can be managed by adjusting the dose or taking other measures.

The most common side effects of selinesol when used with bortezomib and dexamethasone are thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), nausea (feeling unwell), fatigue, anemia, decreased appetite, diarrhea, and peripheral neuropathy (damage to the nerves in the arms and legs); the most common serious side effects are pneumonia (lung infection), cataracts, sepsis (blood poisoning), diarrhea, vomiting, and anemia. The most common side effects of selinesol combined with dexamethasone are nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, fatigue, thrombocytopenia, anemia, low white blood cell levels, and hyponatremia (low blood sodium levels); the most common serious side effects are pneumonia, sepsis, thrombocytopenia, anemia, and kidney damage.
Faced with these potential side effects, patients and doctors need to maintain close communication and continue to monitor the patient's body response. In some cases, these side effects may be able to be managed effectively without interrupting treatment by adjusting drug dosage or taking additional medical measures. However, if side effects are severe enough to threaten the patient's health or quality of life, it may be necessary to suspend the use of selinesol.
