Because acotinib is available in capsule form, patients can take the drug at home, making sure to follow the instructions. This is important to ensure they work as well as possible for patients. Acotinib needs to be taken twice daily, they are usually taken every 12 hours. Take the tablets or capsules at the same time every day. Swallow the tablet or capsule whole with water, whether or not you have eaten. Do not chew, dissolve, or break tablets, or open capsules. It is usually continued as long as acotinib is effective for it and any side effects are manageable.
