How much does a box of Canafenib/Encofenib cost?

Encorafenib, also known as Braftovi, is an oral, small-molecule BRAF inhibitor used to treat certain types of cancer. Canafenib works by targeting and blocking the receptor BRAF V600E or V600K on cancer cells. In some cancers, mutations in this receptor cause cells to grow and divide too quickly. By targeting these mutated receptors, the drug could slow or stop tumor growth. These mutations are discovered by testing a piece of tumor before starting treatment.

Canafenib can be used to treat melanoma with BRAF V600E or V600K mutations; it can also be used to treat colorectal cancer or certain types of lung cancer with BRAF V600E mutations. Canafenib is usually taken with another drug, depending on why the patientis taking it. For colorectal cancer, canafenib may be used with a drug called cetuximab. This medicine is available in capsule form and taken by mouth once daily, with the dosage depending on the condition being treated. Treatment with canafenib can be continued as long as the patient is benefiting from it and has no unacceptable side effects.

Currently, the original drug Canafenib has not yet entered the domestic market, and the price is unknown. However, its European version has been sold overseas. The price per box of the two specifications of 75mg 42 capsules and 75mg 168 capsules may reach more than 10,000 yuan and more than 40,000 yuan respectively (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rate changes), which is quite expensive. Moreover, generic drugs of canafenib are not on the market at home or abroad.
