达那唑的适应症有哪些？

1. Danazol is suitable for the treatment of endometriosis with hormone therapy.

2. Danazol can be used for fibrocystic breast disease.

Most symptomatic cases of fibrocystic breast disease can be treated with simple measures such as padded bras and pain relievers. In rare patients, symptoms of pain and tenderness may be severe enough to require treatment with suppression of ovarian function. Danazol is generally effective in reducing nodules, pain, and tenderness. It should be emphasized to patients that this treatment is not harmless as it involves significant changes in hormone levels and recurrence of symptoms is very common after discontinuation of treatment.

3. Danazol can be used for hereditary angioedema. Indicated for the prevention of angioedema attacks of all types (skin, abdomen, throat) in men and women.

Precautions before treatment with danazol

1. Because danazol may cause some degree of fluid retention, careful observation is required for diseases that may be affected by this factor, such as epilepsy, migraine, cardiac or renal insufficiency, polycythemia, and hypertension. Diabetic patients should use with caution.

2. Because hepatic dysfunction manifested by moderate elevations in serum aminotransferase levels has been reported in patients receiving danazol, liver function tests should be performed periodically.

3. It has been reported that taking danazol can cause symptoms of acute intermittent porphyria to worsen.

4. Laboratory monitoring of hematological status should be considered.

Treatment of endometriosis with danazol should be initiated during menstruation. Otherwise, appropriate testing should be performed to ensure that the patient is not pregnant while receiving danazol. Treatment must continue without interruption for 3 to 6 months and can be extended to 9 months if necessary. After treatment is completed, if symptoms return, treatment can be restarted.

Treatment for fibrocystic breast disease should begin during menstruation. Otherwise, appropriate testing should be performed to ensure that the patient is not pregnant while receiving danazol.
