The difference between esomeprazole and omeprazole:

Esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets are suitable for:

1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

2. Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis.

3. Long-term maintenance treatment to prevent recurrence of cured esophagitis patients.

4. Symptom control of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) combined with appropriate antimicrobial therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori.

5. Heal duodenal ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection.

6. Prevent the recurrence of peptic ulcer related to Helicobacter pylori.

Omeprazole is the first proton pump inhibitor. It was first launched in Switzerland in 1988 and is a first-generation proton pump inhibitor.

Esomeprazole was first launched in the UK in 2000 and is a second-generation proton pump inhibitor.

Dosage:

Omeprazole enteric-coated tablets: (1) Peptic ulcer: 20 mg (1 tablet) once, 1 to 2 times a day. Swallow it every morning or once in the morning and evening.

(2) Reflux esophagitis: 20 to 60 mg (1 to 3 tablets) at a time, 1 to 2 times a day. Swallow it in the morning or once in the morning and evening.

(3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: 60 mg (3 tablets) once a day. The total daily dose can be adjusted to 20 to 120 mg (1 to 6 tablets) according to the condition. If the total daily dose exceeds 80 mg (4 tablets), it should be divided into two doses.

Esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets: (1) Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg, once a day, for four weeks.

(2) Symptom control of gastroesophageal reflux disease: patients without esophagitis take 20 mg once a day.

(3) Combined with appropriate antibacterial therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori: and heal duodenal ulcers related to Helicobacter pylori, and prevent the recurrence of peptic ulcers related to Helicobacter pylori: Esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets 20 mg + amoxicillin 1g + clarithromycin 500 mg, twice a day for 7 days.
