Methods to alleviate the side effects of Silodosin
1. Orthostatic hypotension and dizziness
It is recommended that patients try to avoid sudden standing up, sudden changes in body position, etc., and especially avoid high-risk actions such as driving or operating machinery that endangers the lives of themselves or others until the drug in the body is basically eliminated.
2. Treatment of retrograde ejaculation
Although it is a common reaction to drugs and has negligible impact on the body's health, it can gradually return to normal after stopping the drug. If the patient cannot tolerate it, a different treatment plan may be considered.
3. Gastrointestinal discomfort
If diarrhea occurs, patients are advised to avoid spicy food, drink more water, and use antidiarrheal drugs temporarily if necessary. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you should seek prompt medical attention for professional evaluation and treatment.
4. The importance of preoperative notification
Patients planning to undergo cataract surgery must inform their ophthalmologist in advance that they are using silodosin to prevent the occurrence of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS).
