Dolutegravir belongs to a class of drugs called integrase inhibitors.
It stops the virus from growing and infecting more cells. Dolutegravir is used with other HIV medicines to help control HIV infection.
It helps reduce the amount of HIV in the body, allowing the immune system to function better.
Get medical help immediately if any of the following serious side effects occur:
Severe allergic reaction (rash; hives; itching; chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, throat, or tongue; unusual hoarseness);
Changes in the amount of urine produced;
Fever, chills, or sore throat;
mouth sores or blisters;
muscle or joint aches;
red or swollen eyes;
shortness of breath;
Symptoms of liver problems (eg, dark urine, loss of appetite, pale stools, severe or persistent nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes).
