Effects of hydrocortisone:

To explore the application and efficacy of two oral hormones, hydrocortisone and prednisone, in postoperative hormone replacement therapy in patients with hypercortisolism.

60 patients with hypercortisolism admitted to the hospital from January 2016 to December 2016 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, A and B, with 30 cases in each group. On the day after surgery and the first day after surgery, all patients were given intravenous infusion of 100 mg hydrocortisone, and then another infusion 12 hours later. On the second day after surgery, group A started taking oral hydrocortisone acetate tablets, and group B started taking oral prednisone acetate tablets.

Results: (1) The two groups of patients did not experience adrenocortical insufficiency during hormone replacement therapy. The average drug withdrawal time in group A was (6.61±1.25) months, and the average drug withdrawal time in group B was (4.90±1.06) months;

(2) The postoperative blood and urine Cor levels of patients in groups A and B were significantly lower than those before surgery in the same group (P<0.05), and there was no statistically significant difference between the groups;

(3) Postoperative serum sodium and serum potassium levels of patients in groups A and B were significantly lower than those before surgery in the same group (P<0.05), and there was no statistically significant difference between the groups.

Conclusion: Oral corticosteroids are safe and effective in postoperative hormone replacement therapy in patients with hypercortisolism.
