How to use hydrocortisone: Take it orally to treat adult adrenal insufficiency. The daily dose is 20~30 mg. Take 2/3 in the morning and 1/3 after lunch. The therapeutic dose for children is 20~25mg/㎡ per day based on body surface area, divided into 3 times and taken once every hour.

Adverse reactions after hydrocortisone use: iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome, face and posture, weight gain, edema of lower limbs, purple lines, easy bleeding tendency, poor wound healing, acne, menstrual disorders, avascular necrosis of the humeral or femoral head, osteoporosis and fractures (including spinal compression fractures , long bone pathological fractures), muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, hypokalemia syndrome, gastrointestinal irritation (nausea, vomiting), pancreatitis, peptic ulcer or perforation, growth inhibition in children, glaucoma, cataracts, benign increased intracranial pressure syndrome, impaired glucose tolerance and exacerbation of diabetes.

Can cross the placenta. Animal experimental studies have confirmed that administration during pregnancy can increase the incidence of embryonic cleft palate, placental insufficiency, spontaneous abortion and intrauterine growth retardation. May increase the risk of placental insufficiency, neonatal weight loss, or stillbirth.
