What diseases does the Hong Kong version treat? Hydrocortisone tablets are mainly used for the replacement treatment of adrenal insufficiency and the treatment of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. It can also be used for rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic fever, gout, bronchial asthma, allergic diseases, and can be used for severe infection and anti-shock treatment. Hydrocortisone tablets are also the raw material for the preparation of several other important steroid drugs.
The main functions of hydrocortisone tablets are as follows:
1. Anti-inflammatory effect: Glucocorticoids reduce and prevent tissue responses to inflammation, thereby reducing the manifestations of inflammation.
2. Immunosuppressive effect: Prevent or inhibit cell-mediated immune responses, delayed allergic reactions, and reduce the expansion of primary immune responses.

Hydrocortisone tablets usage and dosage: Orally administered, for the treatment of adrenocortical insufficiency in adults, daily dose 20~30mg, take 2/3 in the morning and 1/3 after lunch. In case of stress, the dosage should be increased appropriately, up to 80mg per day, taken in divided doses. The therapeutic dose for children is 20~25mg/㎡ per day based on body surface area, divided into 3 times and taken once every hour.
Side effects: prone to bleeding, osteoporosis and fractures (including vertebral compression fractures, pathological fractures of long bones), lower limb edema, cataracts, iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome, face and posture, hypokalemia syndrome, gastrointestinal irritation (nausea, vomiting), weight gain, Menstrual disorders, muscle atrophy, acne, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer or perforation, growth inhibition in children, poor wound healing, avascular necrosis of the humeral or femoral head, benign intracranial hypertension syndrome, purpura, myasthenia, glaucoma, impaired glucose tolerance and exacerbation of diabetes.
