What kind of drug is Respimat? It is a bronchodilator, suitable for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, the maintenance treatment of accompanying dyspnea and the prevention of acute exacerbations. It can improve the quality of life of COPD patients and reduce acute exacerbations of COPD.
Respimat can only be used by inhalation; the medicine bottle can only be inserted into the inhaler and inhaled through the inhaler; 2 doses of medicine sprayed from the inhaler are 1 medicinal dose. The recommended dose for adults is 5ug of tiotropium and 5ug of olodaterol, once a day, 2 puffs each time, inhaled through an inhaler at the same time every day. Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Precautions when using Respimat:
1. Patients under 18 years old are not recommended to use Respimat.
2. People with narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, bladder neck obstruction, and pregnant and lactating women should use with caution.
3. Respimat is a once-daily maintenance bronchodilator and cannot be used as a rescue treatment drug for acute episodes of bronchospasm.
4. Patients with moderate or severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance ≤50ml/min) should be monitored when using Respimat.
5. Allergic reactions may occur after inhaling Respimat.
6. Long-term use of Respimat can cause dental caries.
7. Care must be taken to avoid getting the product into the eyes, otherwise it may cause or aggravate symptoms of narrow-angle glaucoma, eye pain or discomfort, temporary blurred vision, visual halos or color images accompanied by red eyes and corneal edema caused by conjunctival congestion; if signs of narrow-angle glaucoma occur, stop using it immediately.
