1. Confirm contraindications

(1). It cannot be used to treat acute or critical asthma or COPD attacks.

2. Assess your own health status

1. Use the inhalation device correctly

(1) Once a day, at a fixed time: only use it once a day, one inhalation each time. Medication should be taken at the same time every day.

(2). Learn correct techniques: Be sure to learn to use the Ellipta inhaler under the guidance of medical staff. Before inhaling, exhale the air in your lungs smoothly and completely (do not exhale into the mouthpiece), then place the mouthpiece between your lips, inhale deeply through your mouth, hold your breath for 3-4 seconds, and then exhale slowly.

2. Identify and deal with common adverse reactions

(1) Oral candida infection (thrush): To prevent this, rinse your mouth with water immediately after each inhalation, but do not swallow.

(2) Risk of pneumonia (especially COPD patients): Pay close attention to signs of pneumonia, such as fever, chills, worsening cough, change in sputum color, difficulty breathing and chest pain.

(4) Cardiovascular and nervous system effects: May cause palpitations, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, increased blood pressure, tremor or nervousness. If these symptoms occur, you should consult your doctor promptly.

(5) Elevated intraocular pressure and glaucoma: Pay attention to symptoms such as eye pain, blurred vision, and halos, which may indicate acute angle-closure glaucoma and require immediate medical attention.

(6) Difficulty urinating: If you experience pain during urination, thin urine stream or difficulty urinating, you should stop using this product and seek medical attention immediately.

1. Regular review and monitoring

(1) Bone density examination: Long-term use of inhaled corticosteroids may increase the risk of bone density loss, and high-risk patients should regularly monitor bone density before and during medication.

(2) Eye examination: It is recommended that long-term users undergo regular eye examinations to monitor cataracts or glaucoma.

(3) Height monitoring (children): This product is not suitable for people under the age of 18, but for children using other ICS-containing drugs, their growth should be monitored regularly.

2. Special monitoring of systemic hormone conversion

When switching from oral corticosteroids to inhaled corticosteroids, the oral medication needs to be slowly tapered off under the guidance of a doctor.
