Budesonide is a non-halogenated glucocorticoid drug with highly effective local anti-inflammatory effects. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antipruritic and anti-exudative effects. The chemical name is 16a, 170r. 22R,S. Butylenedioxy-11p, 21-dihydroxy-1,4-pregnadiene 3,20-dione has a molecular formula of c25HH06 and a relative molecular mass of 430.55. It is an epimer, and the 22R isomer is twice as active as the 22S type.

Budesonide is a glucocorticoid with highly potent local anti-inflammatory effects. It can enhance the stability of endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells and lysosomal membranes, inhibit immune responses and reduce antibody synthesis, thereby reducing the release and activity of allergic active mediators such as histamine. It can also reduce the enzymatic process triggered when antigens and antibodies are combined, inhibit the synthesis and release of bronchoconstrictive substances and reduce the contractile response of smooth muscles. Acute, subacute and long-term toxicity studies have found that the systemic effects of budesonide, such as weight loss, lymphoid tissue and adrenal cortex atrophy, are weaker than or equivalent to other glucocorticoids. After systematic evaluation in six different experimental tests, Budesonide has no mutagenic or carcinogenic effects.

Budesonide Dosage: Take once daily in the morning. Swallow the capsule whole. Do not chew or crush. For patients who are unable to swallow the entire capsule, open the capsule and pour the granules into a tablespoon of applesauce. Mix and consume entire contents within 30 minutes. Do not chew or crush. Follow with 8 ounces of water. Avoid grapefruit juice during budesonide treatment.

Are there dependencies on budesonide?
