(Budesonide) is an adrenocortical hormone drug. Budesonide is a non-halogenated glucocorticoid that has a strong local anti-inflammatory effect and can inhibit early bronchospasm and late allergic reactions. It is one of the important drugs for the treatment of allergic asthma.

Budesonide is a glucocorticoid with highly effective local anti-inflammatory effects. Acute, subacute, and long-term toxicity studies have found that the systemic effects of Budesonide, such as weight loss/lymphoid tissue/adrenocortical atrophy, are weaker than or equivalent to other glucocorticoids.

Budesonide starting dose, dose during severe asthma or when reducing oral corticosteroids

Adults: 1 to 2 mg once, twice a day. Children: 0.5 to 1 mg once, twice a day.

The maintenance dose of budesonide should be individualized and should be the lowest dose that keeps the patient asymptomatic. Recommended dosage: Adults: 0.5 to 1 mg once, twice a day. Children: 0.25~0.5mg once, twice a day.

Patients should note when taking Budesonide for treatment: In clinical studies, coadministration of Budesonide with other drugs is more common, which can increase the incidence of adverse events. Therefore, patients should strictly follow the doctor's diagnosis and treatment recommendations when taking this drug for treatment. Taking (Budesonide) for treatment may have local effects on the nasal cavity: nasal septum perforation/nasal ulcer/epistaxis/local Candida albicans infection/nasal or pharyngeal infection. Patients should be regularly monitored for nasal adverse reactions during treatment; if infection occurs, treatment may need to be discontinued.
