Of the 703 patients who completed ROMANA1 and ROMANA2, 513 entered ROMANA3, and the improvements in weight and anorexia-cachexia symptoms observed in the original trial were sustained for 12-24 weeks.
Compared with placebo, anamorelin produced significantly greater weight gain from original trial baseline at all time points and improved anorexia-cachexia symptoms at weeks 3, 6, 9, 12 and 16, improving body weight and symptom burden.
