What drug is erlotinib?
Erlotinib (Erlotinib) is an oral anti-cancer drug that belongs to the tyrosine kinase inhibitor category. It is mainly used to treat certain types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), especially those with mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene. By inhibiting the activity of EGFR kinase, erlotinib blocks abnormal cell signaling, thereby slowing or inhibiting tumor growth, differentiation and spread. Patients typically take erlotinib by mouth at a dose of 150 mg once daily. However, drug efficacy and tolerability vary among patients. During treatment, patients may experience some side effects, such as rash, diarrhea, etc., but these can usually be managed under the guidance of a doctor.
