What will happen if a normal person accidentally takes Rasagiline?
Compared with healthy subjects, subjects with mild hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5-6) had a 2-fold increase in AUC and a 1.4-fold increase in Cmax after repeated dosing (7 days) of Rasagiline (1 mg/day). Compared with healthy subjects, subjects with moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 7-9) had a 7-fold and 2-fold increase in AUC and Cmax, respectively. After repeated doses (8 days) of rasagiline (1 mg/day) in subjects with moderate renal impairment, rasagiline exposure (AUC) was similar to healthy subjects, whereas subjects with moderate renal impairment had a 1.5-fold increase in exposure (AUC) to the major metabolite 1-AI compared with healthy subjects. Mistaken consumption of rasagiline by normal people may cause liver and kidney damage, so patients should take the drug under the guidance of a doctor.
