Rasagiline metabolism time
Rasagiline(Rasagiline) is almost completely biotransformed in the liver before excretion. In vitro experiments show that both pathways of rasagiline metabolism depend on the cytochrome P450 (CYP) system, of which CYP1A2 is the main isoenzyme involved in rasagiline metabolism. Glucuronide conjugation of rasagiline and its metabolites, with subsequent excretion in the urine, is the primary route of elimination. After oral administration of 14C-labeled rasagiline, it is eliminated primarily through urine and secondarily through feces (62% of total dose in urine and 7% of total dose in feces over 7 days), with an overall calculated recovery of 84% of dose. Over a period of 38 days. Less than 1% of rasagiline is excreted in the urine as unchanged drug.
