Rituximab Adverse Reactions

Common adverse reactions of Rituximab (Rituximab) include fever, chills/shivers, nausea, pruritus, angioedema, hypotension, headache, bronchospasm, urticaria, and rash , vomiting, myalgia, dizziness or hypertension, etc. Two patients with systemic lupus erythematosus died of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) after receiving rituximab treatment, and at least one patient with rheumatoid arthritis developed PML after receiving rituximab treatment. HBV reactivation can occur in patients receiving rituximab, leading in some cases to fulminant hepatitis, liver failure, and death. Overdose patients are at increased risk for serious adverse reactions, such as fatal infusion-related reactions and severe mucocutaneous reactions.
